Jennifer Covington is co-owner of Madison Ballroom Dance Studio. She is a native of Nashville, Tennessee who moved to Madison, Alabama in 1997 after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from the University of Evansville. She completed a Master’s Degree from the University of Alabama at Huntsville in 2000. Jennifer has been a ballroom dance instructor for the past 7 years. She and her partners have placed in various ballroom competitions. Jennifer and her business partner, Traci Romine, opened MBDS in 2007 where they are working to achieve a professional and competitive reputation in dancing.



Lori Hewlett has been dancing for the past eight years and teaching professionally for the last four. At age 19, she took her first ballroom dance lesson in Huntsville Alabama, sparking a life-long passion. After receiving an Associate of Art from Calhoun Community College, she transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she earned a Bachelor of Art in Ballroom Dance from B.Y.U.’s unrivaled Department of Health and Human Performance. While attending B.Y.U., she was a member of the University’s esteemed Ballroom Dance Company. Lori performed many exhibitions and shows, and participated in numerous competitions while excelling in her studies of a highly demanding ballroom curriculum. Upon completing her degree, Lori moved back to Huntsville, where she is an independent instructor sharing her passion for ballroom dance with her students.



Christopher Tucker started his teaching career in 1992 at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Huntsville, Alabama. Since then, he has graduated Gold Level Highly Commended at both Fred Astaire and Arthur Murray Dance Studios. In his career with both studios, he taught students how to become dancers, and trained other staff members on how to become better teachers and dancers as well. In addition, while at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, Chris was ranked top teacher in his division worldwide for two consecutive years. He also competed in the Professional division, as well as in the Pro-am division with his students. While competing professionally, he was ranked third place in the Northwest.

 

Michael Steffen has 18 years of dance experience, including 15 years as a dance educator. Among other teaching engagements, he has taught at the University of Alabama Huntsville, as well as at their University Fitness Center. His teaching emphasizes the fundamentals of ballroom dancing and proper technique in a social dancing context.
